Summer, Colour & Retreats

Thyme---Lodge27.jpeg

This summer has had great heatwaves and torrential rains, so we have been thinking about escaping the city and being inspired by the outdoors, relaxing into holiday routines and basking in the glory of all the summer colours that are abundant around us. This year Pantone’s summer colours celebrate the positivity of nature and create dynamicism with fresh and crips colours and we have found some wonderful get-aways that seem to be taking queues from this colour pallet of pink suede, soft lavenders and cool greens.

These beautiful boutique hotels and homes lead with colour to create spaces of relaxation and beautiful design, all of them boast beautiful gardens and delicious food offering created from local produce. Enjoy!

We love the way soft colours of Oakley Court interiors are punctured by patterns that add texture to the interior and you can feel that nature is never too far away! A Victorian Gothic Mansion House in Berkshire, it isn’t far to get to al-fresco dinning in their gardens and indulgent afternoon teas.

With views across the meadows that lets the soft evening light pour in, and a cozy lounge with warm colours and playful prints, what’s not to love about Glebe House in Devon. A unique Georgian house, with a restaurant and 15acres to explore and picnic on, it is an escape to dream of

We love how these two places use patterned wallpaper and soft hues of pink and blue to create a calm oasis and bring the outside in. Limewood Hotel, in the New Forest, has a kitchen team lead by Angela Hartnett and so is a culinary delight as well as.

Paschoe House, set in twenty-five acres of wild Devon landscapes overlooking a lake with rolling fields in all directions, offers wonderful walks and dreamy relaxation spots.

The Thyme's Garden Rooms are a relaxed space that allows for tranquility and relaxation. Their Lodge rooms - pictured at the top of this newsletter - are fun, and draw on the presence of nature. The Thyme is ‘a place built on nature’ which you can see in every avenue, from their food to the experiences they offer.

Never underestimate a cosy lounge, especially in British summertime! And this spot at The Newt, in Somerset, is a perfect place to shelter and lose yourself in a book. The Newt is a working estate with acres of splendid gardens, woodland, farmland and cyder orchards to explore. Stay the night or become a member and see the landscape change throughout the year, and enjoy this room all year round!
